Book Bartender is designed for browsing without a reader account. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Information we collect

Our first-party analytics record book-page views, searches and result counts, category selections, retailer-link clicks, the page that led to an event, device category, and an anonymous random session identifier. The identifier is kept in your browser's session storage and normally ends when that browser tab or session closes. We do not place advertising cookies or intentionally collect names, email addresses, precise location, or full IP addresses through analytics.

If you contact us, suggest a book, or report an issue, we receive the information you choose to submit. Names and email addresses are optional unless a form says otherwise. To limit spam, we temporarily use a one-way technical fingerprint derived from network and browser information; it is used only for rate limiting and is not shown in reports.

How we use and keep information

We use information to operate and secure the site, understand which books and features are useful, improve searches, maintain affiliate links, and respond when requested. Analytics may be retained for up to 24 months. Messages and submissions may be kept until resolved and for up to 24 months afterward. Rate-limit records expire from active use after their short security window and are routinely removed.

Service providers and outside links

Our hosting, database, and security providers process limited information on our behalf. Retailer and other third-party links open sites governed by their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You may browse without submitting a form. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete information you submitted by using the contact form and choosing “Privacy request.” We will verify and respond as reasonably required by applicable law. Because we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is currently no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to provide.

Children

Book Bartender is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Please contact us if you believe a child submitted personal information.

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date below identifies the current version.
