Editorial policy

Book Bartender selects, describes, categorizes, rates, and pairs books independently. Retailer availability and future affiliate relationships do not determine whether a book is included or how it is rated.

Editorial review

Administrators track review status for book details, categories, ratings, content notes, cover sources, retailer editions, and pairings. Review status is an internal workflow indicator and does not determine whether a published book or its drink pairings appear to readers. Drink recipes and Bar Cart items have their own review status.

Ratings and content notes

Spice, suspense, and creepy ratings are designed to help readers choose confidently. Content notes summarize material readers may want to know about before beginning a book. Reasonable readers may judge intensity differently, so every book page includes a private issue-reporting option.

Corrections

Readers may report a questionable rating, note, edition, cover, or pairing. We review credible reports and correct the catalog when warranted; submissions do not guarantee a change.

Retailer links

Verified direct-edition links are preferred. When a direct edition has not been confirmed, a clearly labeled title-and-author search link may be provided instead. Book Bartender does not display retailer prices or copy retailer reviews.

Covers

Book covers are displayed only when Book Bartender has a documented basis for use, such as a public-domain or open license, publisher authorization, or a future approved affiliate-content system. Otherwise, the site uses a Book Bartender title-and-author placeholder.
