288 pages · First published 2020
After being taken from her island home and repaired by the factory that created her, Roz is sent to work at Hilltop Farm, where she helps an injured farmer care for his dairy cows and two children. Although Roz grows fond of the Shareef family and the farm animals, she longs to return to the wild island where she raised her adopted goose son, Brightbill. Determined to find her way home, Roz secretly shares her extraordinary past with the children and begins planning an escape that will take her far beyond the farm. With help from old and new animal friends, she must navigate the unfamiliar human world while evading powerful robots determined to capture her. Filled with adventure, heart, and thought-provoking questions about family, freedom, and belonging, this illustrated middle-grade science-fiction sequel is ideal for readers who enjoy unlikely friendships, courageous journeys, and stories of love that transcends differences.
