Prudence Daniels believes in hard work, following the rules, and making sure everyone gets exactly what they deserve—especially her infuriatingly laid-back lab partner, Quint Erickson. After a mysterious accident leaves her with the apparent ability to deliver instant karmic justice, she eagerly tests her newfound power on the people around her, only to discover that it never seems to work properly on Quint. When a disappointing school project forces them to spend the summer volunteering together at a marine animal rescue center, Prudence begins to see a different side of the boy she thought she knew. Between rescuing injured sea creatures, uncovering the center's financial struggles, and navigating unexpected romantic feelings, she learns that judging others is considerably easier than understanding them. Funny, sweet, and sun-soaked, this contemporary YA romance suits readers who enjoy enemies-to-lovers banter, opposites attracting, coastal summers, animal rescue, and a little magical mischief.
