Book 5.5 of the Kate Daniels series
448 pages · First published 2012
Andrea Nash has stepped away from the Order and from much of the life she once knew, but a case involving murdered shapeshifters pulls her back into Atlanta’s supernatural politics. The investigation forces her to work with Raphael Medrano, the charming bouda she loved and left, while evidence points toward a dangerous magical artifact. Andrea’s unusual heritage makes the case personally risky, especially as secrets she has spent years hiding become harder to contain. This Kate Daniels world novel combines murder investigation, shapeshifter conflict, mythology, and a second-chance romance centered on a heroine finally deciding what parts of herself she is willing to claim.
