Dragonsteel Prime is Brandon Sanderson’s early, unpublished epic-fantasy novel set in a version of the world and cosmology that eventually contributed major ideas to the Cosmere. Jerick and other characters move through political conflict and the Eternal War while concepts, settings, and scenes appear in forms that Sanderson later revised or repurposed. Some material—including early versions of ideas associated with the Shattered Plains and bridge crews—will feel familiar to Stormlight readers without matching published continuity. Released as a Sanderson Curiosity, the novel is best approached as an alternate developmental artifact showing the author experimenting with ideas that later became foundational elsewhere.
