A Lady's Handbook to Gadgets and Guile

by Angela Bell

In 1895 London, ambulatory wheelchair user Margaret Kingsley secretly builds gadgets for the Daughters of Genius Society, a covert group of female investigators. She prefers assisting from the workshop until a case requires her to infiltrate the circle of a celebrated inventor. Charles Noble, a former musician now supporting his disabled father, takes a temporary job coordinating the inventor's anniversary event, where strange incidents bring his work into Margaret's investigation. This historical romantic mystery combines Victorian inventions, sabotage, disability representation, secret lady detectives, and an attraction that develops while the pair try to keep a mechanical empire from being dismantled.
